ADMINISTRATION

KRS - PASTORAL AND ACADEMIC ORGANIZATION

For pastoral  (individual welfare) purposes, the school is divided into year-based tutor
groups. The form tutors are the 'front-line' contact for all pupils in terms of care and
discipline.  They meet their groups daily for registration, and twice weekly for school
assemblies.  There is a structured pastoral care programme which helps develop the
social, personal, health and educational skills of each pupil.  This takes up one period
per week for all pupils.

KS4 Years10 and 11:         Mrs Sue Illingworth

The Head and Deputy are the first points of contact with incoming parents.

For internal sporting and competitive events and the merit point trophy the school is
split into two houses - Crusaders and Saracens.  There are competitions covering
sports, quizzes, dramas and merit points which run throughout the school year.

Academically, the school is organized into curriculum areas, and all major subjects
are represented by a Head of Curriculum Area (HCA).  The HCA is responsible for the
internal organisation and curriculum of classes within the curriculum area, and for
maintaining satisfactory standards of work.

There is provision also for careers education, the latter being supplemented by weekly
visits from a qualified careers adviser.
