OFSTED

King Richard School is regularly inspected by Her Majesty’s Inspectors
and last November (2004)they said:

“KRS is an effective school !”

“Pupils make good progress as a result of good teaching, and the very
favourable class sizes.”

The Inspectors also said that all these aspects of school were good:

Pupils’ achievement.

The provision for the development of pupils’ personal qualities, including
their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

The quality of education.

Teaching and learning throughout the school.

Arrangements for the care, welfare, health and safety of the pupils.
The leadership of the school.

What did the pupils say?

“Most pupils like being at school. They consider that they are well taught
and expected to do their best at all times. They believe that they are
trusted to do things on their own and that the school is interested in their
views. They think that the school is well run.”

“Inspectors found that the large majority of pupils feel safe and free from
bullying and harassment. Incidents are generally dealt with effectively by
staff; pupils know to whom they should go and what to do if they are upset
or bullied.”

What did the parents say?

“Parents have confidence in the school and the effectiveness of its
leadership and management. They consider behaviour to be generally
good, and approve of the school’s high expectations and its focus on
raising standards. Parents believe that their children are happy at school,
that they are well taught and make good progress, and that they can
approach the school with an inquiry or a complaint. They value the way
that the school helps their children to become mature and independent
individuals.”
