OPTION LIST Key Stage 4
OPTION LIST AND PLACEMENT PROCEDURES
Towards the middle of Year 9, following contact with parents, careers advisers and teachers, pupils make their
choice of subjects for the GCSE exams which they will take at the end of year 11. (See option choice sheets
below).
In Information Technology, exams of the Royal Society of Arts and EDEXCEL are offered alongside GCSE exams.
It is possible in some subjects for pupils to move to a higher or a lower set.

Before the choosing of options a booklet entitled 'CHOICE' is distributed to parents. This gives full information on
subjects and options, together with hints on how to go about choosing the most effective combination. There will
be a meeting where parents, Careers Advisers, the Careers Teacher, Year 9 Form Tutors and the Headteacher
and Deputy are present.
